How To Get Google Reviews For Your Community Pharmacy

90% of consumers read online reviews before visiting a business and 88% of consumers  trust an online review as much as they would a personal recommendation (source).

With patients having a choice between multiple local pharmacies, the power that Google Reviews have on your business should not be overlooked.

Here’s how you can get started:

1. Add or claim your Business Profile on Google

This will allow you to act on and respond to patients’ valuable feedback as soon as reviews start rolling in. Here’s a step-by-step video tutorial on how to set this up (skip to 3:13).

Pro Tip: add your website or patient portal so patients know exactly where to go to access your pharmacy services.

Now that you’ve claimed your business on Google, let’s learn how to get more reviews…

2. Create a shortcut link to your reviews page

Here’s the how-to:

First, go to your Google My Business account, click the Home tab, and find the “Get your first review” (a.k.a. “Get more reviews”) card.

Click “Share review form” and copy the link to your clipboard.

Copy the link.

Consider using a link shortener (e.g. bitly.com) to shorten and customize your review link.

3. Share your link with patients via text, your pharmacy website, social media, newsletters, and posters!

If you have a web developer, make sure to pass along the link you just generated and place an easy-to-find clickable button on your website so patients can go straight to your review page!

4. Ask your patients!

After your patient received their flu shot, or had a pleasant experience at your pharmacy, ask your patients to leave a review on your Google business page! Most people love to support small businesses, and if you ask nicely, they’re often happy to leave you a positive review.
